Bed Risers for Under-Bed Storage

A small lift can make room for storage bins under a bed that sits just a bit too low. The trick is measuring before you buy, so you add only what you need.

Measure the gap

  1. Measure from the floor to the lowest point under the bed frame (rails or slats).
  2. Measure the height of the bins you want to use, plus a little room to slide them.
  3. The difference is the lift you need.

Keep it modest

For beds, lifts under 3 inches are the typical and recommended choice. Often a lower-profile bin is a better answer than a taller lift. A modest lift keeps the bed easy to get into and keeps it feeling solid.

Fit each leg

Bed legs vary a lot: square, round, tapered, and center support legs. Measure the bottom of every leg, including middle supports, and leave about 1/4 inch of clearance. A custom pocket keeps the leg from shifting when you sit on the edge.

Raise every support

Put risers under all legs, including center supports, so the frame stays level and evenly supported. Lift the bed with a helper rather than dragging it.

Common questions

How high should bed risers be?

Under 3 inches is typical for beds. Choose the lift you actually need for your bins.

Do I need risers on the center legs?

Yes. Every leg that touches the floor should get a riser of the same height.

Can I get help with sizing?

Yes. Use the chat on any page or text 860-856-3633 with a photo of the leg next to a tape measure, and we'll help you pick the right size before you order.
